Why are girls nowadays so tall ?!

I like to believe that I'm reasonably tall, but recently walking around orchard, I have come to realise that the girls now are tall. They are only wearing slippers, and they are either my height or taller! I just saw this couple where the guy is one head shorter than his girlfriend. hmm ... How does it feel for a guy having to look up when talking to his girlfriend, or unable to provide a shoulder for his gf's head to rest whithout giving her neck cramps.

This statement was verified by damian, who also agreed that there is something odd with the next generations' genes. It seems like I'm being pushed to the category of short guys. Times have changed. So have the gene pool.

Fyzzio's Bachelor Party

Now what a surprise! In total shock!

After 2 weeks of careful orchestration and planning which included the permission of his fiancee:
This is it:

Fyzzio's 'Shocking Ajaran' Bachelor Party

Me and Vic spent an hour searching for the props, and the 'collaborators' spent the next hour trying to put some meaning into it. Here goes, the frog hat symbolizes Fyzzio 'leaping' from singlehood to marital bliss (ha!). That baby napkin (forgot wats the word for it) thingie around his neck symbolizes 'get baby early'. The sword symbolizes 'manliness', as he is now the head of the house. (you say its lame, it took effort, so laugh.)

We celebrated his bachelor party @ Hardrock cafe, the people there were sporting and enthusiastic. What ever we wanted, they delivered with more.

We probably stunned everybody when we put on the get-up for Fyzzio. We laughed so hard we were tearing. For that day, he was hardrock cafe's mascot, why? Who ever celebrated their birthday there, got a handshake from our mascot friend. (haha!, it was part of a forfeit for him.) There was this kid who was celebrating his birthday, our friend went up to give him a handshake, at first the kid was scared, but upon seeing that ridiculous hat, he started laughing and opened up.

In hopes of getting rid of his washboard body, we asked the waiter to whoop up some horrible fattening drink that would kill his abs. And the concoction is only for the bold. Different kinds of cheese mixed with I think strawberry milk and who knows what. A drink to puke for.

The fun with the drinks doesn't end there, the waiter served up another weird mix. This time it tasted like cough syrup with ... I don't know ... cheese? In any case, it was hardly drinkable. But our champ took it all with a pinch of salt.

We are soldiers, but the starters @ hardrock are just massive. We were bloated before our main course arrived. And when we were done with it, we were gagging. What you see are the left overs.

The next forfeit was to sing in front of everybody there @ hardrock. The song was 'love you', the band 'Energy'. I must say, the crowd was in awe, our man here sang just as well or even better than the band's lead singer. Again, we couldn't stop laughing. We probably liven up the whole atmosphere that day, we sang birthday songs loud for those celebrating, we laughed so much people were laughing with us. Even the bartender was banging his pans (don't ask me why a bartender has a pan) in gusto.

'He thinks the torment is over since dinner is over. Bullsheeeet!' The fun and humiliation has just began. Here shows our 'collaborators' tying balloons to his jeans. We made him parade in this ridiculous outfit from hardrock all the way cross the road to Orchard towers. Our next stunner?

We are mission-oriented people. And this was the mission. Oh! Fyzzio Fyzzio, the humiliation, I could feel the giggles of those ang mohs waiting to cross the road with us.

We felt the best experience would be for him to walk alone, and feel humiliated alone. Obviously, Cpt Jack was sleeping during the final coord.

Not bad right ?! Sporting Shim no.1! He smiles, but deep down shy boy here is shaking. Her payment? One of the balloons on his ass.

I say, the standard is high for Shim no.2. She got the tits and ass to boot. Her payment? I won't say, but we should have requested a BJ from her for shy boy here at least. (ha!)

What I did on Thursday!

I went for my x-ray and medical examination at Paragon, its part of my visa application. I always feel all great and mighty when I see ppl who are going to Australia, doing all this with their mum. wahahahaha. Sigh, I'm going to Australia all by myself. Well, I'm 22 years old.

Anyway, the highlight of my Thursday was when I was drawing money from the UOB ATM. I got my hands full with my card, wallet, old chang kee and umbrella. About to put my card into the machine when the whole thing started beeping. Why was it beeping? Cause the previous user DID NOT TAKE HIS MONEY! ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ! So I took the money, and ran to the previous user, with all my barang barang.

He look kinda shocked why a guy was carrying so much stuff, running to him. He thanked me and said something like: "Oh, I forgot my money". Yea, good guess! Went back to the ATM only to realise I need re-queue again.

This 12 Dec, wahahaha, got tickets for Seoul Concert @ fort canning. The best thing about this, is that, its not only a korean concert. Its a KOREAN CARNIVAL ! There are korean food stores and stuff there. Seems like a teaser to this Feb's korea holiday!

Wazzup! Its been long since I updated my blog, ppl have been complaining. I'm just lazy, its just like writing a diary or a journal, and I've never been good at doing those. Anyway, here's an update on wats happening:

1) I got into St. Mary's residential college, ppl often mistaken this. I'm studying in University of Melbourne, but I'm staying on-campus and thats St. Mary's College.

2) Leaving for Melbourne on the 16 Feb

3) I'm going alone since air fare price is in the heavens

4) I just finish studying cell biology. Took me 2 months to complete it, haven't got back into studying mode. Been real sluggish.

5) Got a hair cut, totally in love with it.

6) Reading 3 books at a go. No, they are not self-help books, their social cultural/application books.

What am I planning to do?

1) Finish the rest of my self-study subjects

2) Buy myself a laptop

3) Go shopping with Ain

4) Organise 2 big celebrations (which I cannot disclose as of yet)

5) A few skills acquisition (secret!)

Btw, I'm suppose to organise a sec sch outing, but I really dun know where and when to go, cause everyone is busier than me! So, after reading this post (and u know who u are), pm me ideas. ty!

A Pageant That's Not a Pageant

"The search is now on for her replacement." Read today's headlines. 4 Weeks to find Ris Low's replacement.

Why so long?

"All options are open." - ERM spokesperson.

As the article says, any of the 21 finalists can be considered to take Ms Low's place.

Feels like ERM has took a shotgun, pointed the barrel down and shot off their own foot. What is the point of having a pageant, a competition, having 2nd and 3rd place, when every finalist from the pageant and winners from other pageants can be considered to replace Ms Low'?

If this is the case, wouldn't it be more effective and less time consuming to have 1 pageant, 1 winner to represent Ms Globe, Ms Model of the World and Ms World 2009? Or if terms and regulations deny this strategy, how about having 1st represent Ms World, 2nd represent Ms Globe and 3rd represent Ms Model?

What ERM is doing is tarnishing the reputation of the pageant and putting the decisions of its panel of judges in question. I understand that runner-up, Ms Claire Lee is suffering from recently acquired back injury but 2nd runner up is still good to go.

I suggest more effort be put in thought not only to handle this delicate situation but in appeasing the public and gaining back public confidence in these pageants.

Are we burning ourselves if she represents us?

We know the controversies, we read the articles. She has been criticised by our country's unsympathetic netizens, and has basically come under alot of heat. But my question, which is also the elemental driving force in why I'm writing this post still remains unanswered. Is this the best Singapore has to offer?

Lets take a step back and review the meaning of a beauty pageant. What do we look for in a contestant? Is it her charisma, her character, or just a perfect, infallible women? Is a beauty pageant just as the name says, all about beauty, do we need the debatable brainy aspects of it? Now put the pageant on an international scale, and you have just raised the bar and included several more criterion for a pageant winner.

Ms Ris Low, our recently crowned Ms Singapore 2009, is set to take on the World stage, but not without her flaws. Does she have that charisma, charm, x factor? Initially, I innocently believed it was there, just masked under her horrendous command of English. However, what I soon realised after several interview questions was that what little amount of charisma she has hidden was being killed by her inadequacy and lack of thought when answering questions. Watched the video above and ask yourself, is this the best Singapore has to offer?

Her character? Vivacious and lighthearted. Her moral quotient? Questionable. A credit card fraud to her, and I quote: "Its still a record, but it's not as though it's that big..." Sure it isn't that big a deal, she just stole only a several credit cards and chalk up only SGD$8,000. ERM's beauty pageant terms and conditions states, those charged with or convicted of a crime, are disqualified from taking part. Obviously she missed out that part. Asked why she never told the company: "They ask then I tell lah, because actually I don't find the point of telling..." When your integrity and morality is skeptical, your credibility as an individual is dubious. Again, is this the best Singapore has to offer?

Sure, no one is without his/her flaws, and no one is infallible. However, in any competition, it is common sense to sent out your best. I appeal to all the thousands of beautiful and intelligent women in Singapore, do the country and the pageant a favor; and participate.

In conclusion, can she be forgiven? Definitely, forgotten eventually. Should she continue? I can only meet that with another question, is this the best Singapore has to offer?

This series that I just recently came to love is just gripping, the romantic turbulence of a soapy korean drama coupled with the smooth, intelligent re-buttals of say ... desperate housewives (my drama series catalogue is limited) . Every few episodes tells an arc of one of the many beautiful people on the show, and it only keeps getting more exciting. If seeing the lifestyle of the rich and high-tier of society isn't your fancy, the frivolous match-ups, hilarious bitching and fashion eye-candies are sure to make you show some liking.

"Cuidado España, here comes el problema."

Not trying to do free advertising for the series, but if it can captivate me for the whole of its season 1 (..and if you know me) then that itself speaks volume. Just writing this post and watching season 2 at the same time took me an unbelievable 3 hours. If sex, lies and scandals isn't tantalizing enough for you, then perhaps my next 'whats worth watching' review will hopefully match your palate.

This batch made their album with the Hotel Logo over a red backing, since 66/06 did theirs in black and 70/07 in white, so why not a new edition into the collection. The Comms ball gift is a miniature sword in a casing with your rank and name inscribed on a gold plate. The white frame on the right is Wing Comd's gift to the ORD personnel and the frame on the left is ex-cadets' gift to the instructors, dun know why my portrait look so evil looking.

Once again, Ben and Comms Ball team, thank you for organising an awesome evening.

Once an Officer, always an Officer

St. Regis, if I'm not wrong, its a 6-star hotel. There was cocktail reception, with a photo taking booth, everyone was introducing, mingling and the whole atmosphere felt so formal. The table settings was top quality and the Comms Ball gift was exquisite (will make another post regarding it).

To me, the best part of the Comms Ball was the dinner, non-stop supply of bread and butter. Salad dish with meat in it, finally. Mushroom soup, boneless chicken with pumpkin sauce and for dessert, some chocolate cake; it was good.

The MC for the evening wasn't that funny and the games played weren't interesting. But still there were occasional laughs, nothing jaw dropping. But I did like the prices for the lucky draw (Ben! Did you even put the instructors' names into the lucky draw bowl), PS3 for a price, now you know where all the money went. lol :)

The highlight of the commissioning ball is always the commissioning video, it encompasses every value and experience in the 9 months of officership. But sadly, it was indeed difficult to pack all that into 10 mins of screen time. The video was so fast, it finished before I can even begin to enjoy it. Haizz

I really appreciated the gift the ex-cadets gave me. It was a portrait of me, I look kinda hideous in it. But none the less, a gift that was priceless. Being appreciated after 1 year of hard work, makes every tough moments worthwhile. To the newly commissioned officers, "with great powers comes great responsibilities, but with that comes an even greater need for humility." If you ever need guidance, advise or someone to talk to, call me and I'll give you Wing Comd's number, joking!

1st Chinese Name on the HIFA Cup

"I finally won"

After much tribulations and humiliations. Season 5 HIFA (Hotel International Football Association) Cup - Pro Evo Soccer 2008 (PES 2008) finally gets its first Chinese name printed.

I'll like to show my appreciation to the HIFA president, Louis for gracing the event, and his continuous support for the chinese name.

My quarterfinal's challenger, Fizzy Kimchi of South Korea, whose team's aerial dominance made it difficult to secure a 3-1 VICTORY! 3-1 !!!

To my semifinal's challenger and long time HIFA rival, Le Francis Eddie of France, your team's sheer determination and driving force made it challenging to secure a late equaliser. Your Frenchies put up a good fight but were still defeated in extra time .... 5-3 ... cannot be wah!

Salmander de Nikita of France, my final challenger and hurdle. Thank you for the many practice sessions (1 game leh!) and for playing Gentlemen style soccer in the finals. Your Henry, gave me many heart attacks, and again I thank you for my win.

However, HIFA Season 5 would not be as fun without the contributions of several more individuals. Namely, Cpt Koh for drawing such a tough and ridiculous match up. Vic of AC Milan, for his constant shouting and screaming why the ball never goes his way (lol!). Ah Xiang, for his attendance in the HIFA, (5-0 to Fyzzio) continue fighting the good fight! Taufiq of the Netherlands, whose always using some achi paria team to try and win (DO trauma). And last but not least Fyzzio of Adaptation Style Soccer, Brazil, whose flexible soccer style always gave my Spaniacs problems. Thank goodness, I did not have to fight you, Champ. But... but ... you lost to Salman ... cannot be wah!

And with Season 5 Cup in my hands ................ I ORD LO !

I recommend this kind of comfort food for anyone going thru the same predicament as me. Not only is it easy to swallow, it also helps to cool the jaw and gums to reduce swelling, or so I postulated. So far, my hypothesis is wrong.

A Nightmarish Experience

Hearing the high-speed chiseling blade cutting through your gums. Sure my gums were numb and I couldn't feel pain, but only the dentist knows the grotesqueness of the operation.

"Blood?" couldn't see a thing with that green veil placed over my eyes. And then the dentist said: "This may feel uncomfortable." What came next felt something out SAW 6.

The next instrument she used was much like a SPOON. She went in 'there' and started using my other teeth as leverage to crack out my wisdom teeth...... "creeck.....cruck". I still feel that sensation even when I sleep. Scared yet?

Looks like alot right? Well its only 2 wisdom teeth. But she chiseled and spooned them to pieces. The black stuff is not decay its just dried up gum tissue.

Ridiculous amount of medicine that doesn't do nuts to reduce the swelling. You'll know what I mean when you look below.

My left cheek feels more swollen than my right. Took me 12 hours + sleep to stop the bleeding. The gum looks pinkishly swollen inside.
